  • filk: What filkers do. (I obviously had to look this one up. Check out the “Filk FAQ” here).
  • lachrymologist: A weep or teardrop specialist. From lachrymose (weepy) + ologist (those who study).

He gave a farewell speech and people have been preparing for the huge inauguration in Washington (tomorrow, at this point). The East Coast was particularly cold—I learned this from my mom, and also from coverage of the US Airways plane that crashed into the frigid Hudson River shortly after takeoff.
