It’s interesting that people are providing me with both words and definitions now! There were again some interesting ones this week:

Passhole: [Noun] A driver who will not allow you to pass them in traffic.

Information-rich visualizations: an example

I came across this data visualization today. It’s really just a plot, but it conveys a lot of information in a very simple, intuitive manner. And I’ve been especially sensitive to this lately since I’ve been working on some information-rich visualizations of my own data.

Interesting words

Last week I received three interesting “words” (with definitions) in my word of the week poll on Mechanical Turk. Has anyone heard of these before?:

Word of the week (Feb 15, 2009)

The stimulus bill passed last week and Saturday was Valentine’s day. With the exception of a ‘heartless’ and ’sexy-ugly’ there weren’t many other signs that V-day came and went.
