This was the last week of President Bush’s 8-year term in office. He gave a farewell speech and people have been preparing for the huge inauguration in Washington (tomorrow, at this point). The East Coast was particularly cold—I learned this from my mom, and also from coverage of the US Airways plane that crashed into the frigid Hudson River shortly after takeoff. It looks like some of these sentiments are reflected in the Words of the Week for the week ending on January 18, 2009:
