The past two days I’ve been super productive by spending a *long* time in this coffee shop in North Park, Claire de Lune. There are a lot of things I really like about it, but mostly that I am kept to myself and I can concentrate on my work. Today I decided to mix things up by sitting in a *different* seat! Ha! (Bonus, there’s a better WiFi connection in this spot). Not long after I sat down, this woman walked up and asked to sit around the same coffee table. Naturally, I said of course. But then she started asking me all sorts of questions. Clearly I was working (I was reading a text book), which was actually what prompted her questions. I tried to be polite and answer them, but recall that one of the things I like about being here is not being hassled. Then she asked, “You said you go to UCSD? I have a friend that goes there. Her name is Anna. Do you know her?” I said, “no.” She followed-up with, “I don’t know her last name. Only Anna. You don’t know her?” What is she thinking?! UCSD has like 20,000 undergrads and probably 1000 Annas. Plus, I literally know the three (wonderful) undergrads who work with me and that’s it. Hahahaha…I know I should be working, especially after rambling on about how productive I’ve been here. This was just too good to go unnoticed.
