thinkature

thinkature homepageFor the past 5 weeks, I’ve spent a significant portion of my time at work (at PARC) browsing web sites, services, and technologies that facilitate some aspect of the information discovery, organization, and sharing process. Finally, we’re settling on an user study where we will record user’s browsing activity from their home computers. Clearly this introduces some serious privacy concerns…to be addressed… At this point, however, I’m struggling just to figure out how to accomplish this technologically. I’ve been looking into several different remote usability software options, including Ethnio (from Nate Bolt at Bolt | Peters) and Morae (from TechSmith), desktop sharing systems including WebEx, Yugma, CamStudio, and CrossLoop.Along the way, I came across this website (thinkature.com). Thinkature allows multiple (remote) users to collaborate on a project/design/layout/etc. But the really interesting thing is the way they implement this: really dynamic interactions directly in the web browser! Try out the sample workspace on the homepage, and be sure to test out the buttons in the lower-left corner.
